Ella's Visit to Weldon

If you don't know how special little Ella Grace is to me and our family, then here's the quick 411: Ella's mom, Julie, used to babysit me, my sister, and brother. Then when my sis and I grew up, we babysat Julie's kids (including Ella), and now, living so far away, Ella watches my kids when she comes. So generations of our families have been intertwined and it warms my heart when my kids smile at Ella because my sister and I LOVED to babysit Ella and we got to see that same grin on her face.

So story aside, Ella came to visit good 'ol Weldon, and here are some pictures to document the highlights of our week:

We headed over to the Wofford Heights park and played on the equipment, Heston loved the slides and swings most of all!

We played outside, and Heston is totally photo-bombing this picture with his nakie buns!
Then Ella lost a tooth, right here in Weldon in my own truck! I felt so honored, and yes, the tooth fairy totally visited her!
Then we had pizza night and watched cartoons together!
Heston loved to snuggle with her-and pull her hair, and scratch her face, and pick her nose, the list goes on.....
Then we made cloud dough out of flour and baby oil and played with that for awhile.
 And Sadie just watched.
Then Ella drove  his Gator around and we played with the bubble gun while Ginger hung out.
Then Ella showed off her skills and Heston totally wanted up on the bars too!

P.S. I totally didn't censor this one, don't tell him!
 Then we snuggled some more!
Ella and Sadie watching TV. Sadie is actually watching! Am I rotting her brain at an early age?
Then Sadie and Ella snuggling. Sadie fell asleep so fast in Ella's arms!

We miss you already Ella!

Until next time!

Staying Pretty Busy!

I've been on Pinterest a lot this week, I'm not sure why, maybe I think my creative juices are going to start flowing, but who knows.

I saw this idea of a ruler to mark the growing process of your kiddos and loved it! I told Tom I wanted him to do it- and thinking that it would take a couple months- I was taken aback when Tom came in the house with this all made. Oh Tom, sometimes you just surprise me! So here's Heston thinking he's going to get to play with daddy's drill and no interest in daddy's new project whatsoever.

Then Heston found daddy's stash of headlamps and put one on. He came in to show me and I just laughed to myself. He thinks he's such a big boy- just like daddy.

In trying to keep Heston busy while I give Sadie my attention, I again went to Pinterest in search of some toddler activities. I found a couple, including cutting holes in the lid of a Pringles can and giving him straws to fit through the holes. I also made a bin of plastic bottles and lids and Hes gets to try to match the right lids with the bottles. Then I made soft play doh by combining corn starch and conditioner and gave him some cookie cutters to cut out shapes. These projects kept him busy for no more than 20 minutes, but still, it was 20 minutes of quiet.

And then sometimes I just sit around and let Sadie play on the blankie while Heston hovers over her. And then my heart melts when he leans over and gives her a big 'ol slobbery kiss!

Sadie is 2 Months!

Here's my little sweet Sadie at two months old. She had her appointment yesterday and I totally forgot to take her picture, so today I put a little headband on her and used the same number stickers as Heston used.

Here's Heston at 2 months, I thought they looked pretty similar, but now that I see the comparison, maybe she does look a little different. She has much larger eyes but still the same cheeks and mouth!
I took off the headband for this picture. My mom doesn't like when Sadie has on big bows and headbands, she takes them off as soon as she sees Sadie with them on. I love my mom, so here's a no-headband picture just for her!
But since I took the headband off of Sadie, Heston found it and tried to get it to fit his big noggin.

Guess it's not going to fit!
Smile Sadie!

My Two Favorite Kiddos

This last month has gone by so fast, Sadie is already six weeks old and so precious!

While I'm still getting about my normal daily routine, little things these kids do just make my day.

Here, Heston is hiding behind the curtain in the laundry room, and guess what he's doing? Pooping! Yes, his signature move. He thinks he's so sneaky. So while Heston is busy doing his business, sister Sadie just rests peacefully in her bouncer.
 Hello everyone!
I got Heston a bug catching net from that dollar section in Target, and he thought it was the coolest hat in the world! He wore it all around the house.
 Peek a boo mom!

And while Heston pranced around as bug catcher head, Sadie was sleeping.
I got the vacuum out this morning to spiff up the house, and Heston had to use it too-of course. So here he is wearing his blue beads and playing with the vacuum.

Meanwhile, Sadie was awake and I happened to catch a little smile from her, sweet little thing!

Then Heston found his play phone and had a conversation with himself as he walked around the house. He used his bubble gun for props as well.
And still Sadie sits and looks.
She's so entertained by whatever brother does, this could be a blessing or a curse!

Until next time,

Pregnancy Pictures and My Two Kiddos

My good friend Jocelyn took my maternity pictures at 7 months preggo with Sadie. She has such an eye for things, these old trucks are right here in my front yard, but I never thought they'd look this good in a picture! Anyways, here I am decked out like a Holstein cow (which is what I felt like at the time).

I'm glad I have pictures as proof and also a comparison to Heston. I kept pulling out the maternity book I made when I was preggie with Hes to see if I'd still have a big baby, ugh!

This picture is the one I made Tom take as we were heading out to the hospital. Look how puffy I was, yucky! Granted, this was taken at 2 am, and I did my best to try and do my hair and makeup in between contractions.
Then here's my precious little Sadie. Born in at 9 pounds 12 ounces. And she resembles her brother sooooo much!

 Look at those Creighton ears!
This is me the day before giving birth to Heston. Just looking back at these pictures I hurt!
Sadie is almost a month old and here's Heston at a month, boy how similar they are!

Heston's Adventures

With the new baby here, Heston has been into everything! I think he's testing me, and winning!

Heston loves to play in the fireplace (when there's no fire of course) and so the end result is tons of ashes and soot everywhere. He was awfully quiet the other day, and this is how I found him. He had painted himself with ashes while playing cards and then tried to put the cards into the diaper genie. Oh boy! He did such a good job painting his face, I told him he'd be an excellent makeup artist.

Heston also likes to dress himself. So here is one of his outfits, and it matches pretty well if I do say so myself. Go Heston!
Heston always steals shoes now. So when Tom comes home he makes it a point to at least walk around the kitchen in his daddy's boots.
While I'm feeding little Sadie, it's much easier to have Heston play outside with the dogs and his new bubble blaster! The other day he came into the house looking like a little dirt devil and had a scrape on his forehead. I asked him what happened and he said: "Uh Oh".  Yea, that's what I thought too. He smelled of dogfood and was drenched in water, so maybe he tripped coming in. Needless to say, it was time to brush his dogfood smelling teeth and give him a bath. He wasn't too excited to wash off his battle wounds.

Then here he is out of the bath. I told you he loves shoes! Don't ever tell him there a picture of his nakey buns on the internet!
