Oh Ging..ivitis!

So here's our trusty dog, how can you not love a face like that?

Did I ever tell you the story on her?
I told my hubby that I definitely needed a companion while I was here at the house all day, so I took it upon myself to adopt a dog from the local shelter.

I was torn between 2 dogs, and every time I go to a shelter, I just want to adopt them all, but Ginger caught my attention.

She's been the best dog we could have had out here. She catches all the gophers, mice, rats, rabbits, voles, birdies, well heck, you name it!

As for her name, she's been called Gingivitis, Gingerbread, anything that goes with Ginger, but we love having her as our trusty pooch out here in the country.

No Bake Cookies, Need I Say More?

These are one of my farmer's favorite cookies. I believe that his sister, Kandiss, is the culprit for getting me addicted to these as well.

They are totally easy to make, 20 minutes top. And when you grab one from the freezer/refrigerator, they almost melt in your mouth!

Why does it seem I always put these fatty recipes on my blog. I promise, I really do eat healthy, but sometimes I need that chocolate splurge, and I think these are pretty healthy.....

Here's the recipe in case you get that chocolate urge as well.

Oh How They Grow Up So Fast

Sadly, I am very allergic to cats, but how cute is this? I try not to let them run around the house, but the three of them come and sit on the couch and watch TV with us!

My farmer loves cats and kittens, like really loves them! He held one in almost all of the family pictures much to his parent's irritation.

So this was appropriate that I got a shot of Tom with one of his kittens, I think this one is Tarzan (he always climbs and escapes), they're pretty cute, and almost ready to be released back into the wild (or just the barn...same thing to them!)

All Her Eggs in One....Cubby

Oh the joys of raising chickies. I've been going out to collect eggs and wondered why I wasn't getting as much as usual, and voila, looky here. My little black hen is trying to set. But seriously, does she need to sit on this many?

It's like a pyramid of eggs, have you ever seen so many under one hen? The other hens will sit next to her, lay their eggs and then have little blackie set them, talk about being used!

Oatmeal Crispies-That's all I have to say!

Good morning!

I was totally craving cookies last night around 9, yes I know, sad, but I came across this Pioneer Woman recipe for oatmeal crispies and thought I'd give them a try.

They were delicious! Very easy to make, and plus, there was enough to store in the freezer for days to come! And with them fresh out of the oven, even better!

They are simple, delicious, yummy cookies with a hint of sweetness, make them today!

Hmm, what can I cook today?

Trip to the Animal Wonderland

Yes, it is true, I did borrow this picture from my most favorite photographer, Jocelyn. But it was too cute to pass up!

I went up to my grandma-in-law's farm-aka Winnie's Animal Wonderland-with Jocelyn's family and had a blast.

This calf's name is Goliath, yes I named it myself, but how cute is he? His mom is a Brown Swiss milk cow, where we get our milk from. And this little boy will walk right up to you! Oh the joys of a farm!

Make These Today!

It's been a while since I've been blogging, sorry! Baling season has begun, and I've got the chance to watch my husband out in the fields cutting the hay.

When my husband leaves for work in the morning, I come into the kitchen to see he drank all of the coffee except for a mere 1/2 cup, fed up with this waste of good coffee, I stumbled upon this (of course) Pioneer Woman recipe. I decided I just had to make it today!

It's delicious, I definitely had a chocolate craving today, and this satisfied it. Here's the link! You have to make these today, and plus, since they're homemade, they're even better!

Roy Rogers at the Creighton Homestead

Hello everyone!

So I just thought I would share what a blessing it is to live out here in the middle of nowhere.

Every morning my dirt driveway is graced by the presence of Roy Rogers himself. Actually, it's my neighbor, Bill Nolt, on his horse Kokomo. He is such a nice man! He dresses up as Roy Rogers and does tricks with his horse. He heads off to many events where he does parades or living history days. He's a hoot!

Here's one of his websites.

If you come out to visit, you might just be lucky enough to see 'ol Roy Rogers in person!
