My Little Helper

As I've been organizing the nursery in preparation for this little girl, Heston has been on my heels, wanting to see everything I'm doing and wanting to help with everything in the process.

First he found her piggy bank encased in styrofoam that he needed to investigate and disassemble. I came around the corner to find pieces everywhere, he was pretty proud of himself.

Then, in my hair drawer I have black and white stretchy headbands for my bad hair/bang days, and when Heston sees me wear them he wants to try them out for himself, so this is what he ends up with and it makes me giggle each time. So stylish!

I got a pink and grey car seat cover for Heston's infant car seat, because of course this little one needs girly touches (Tom's not impressed) and Heston was definitely right there in the action to help his mom cover and re-style his little sister's seat. Oh Heston, how you keep me on my toes!

Re-Vamping the Nursery

With less than a month left before this little farmerette comes into the world, it was time to get the nursery ready for two!

Kandiss, Tom's sister, gave us a white crib for the girl, so Tom and I had a hot date putting together the crib, and as you can see, he's very excited!

Last night, Tom put up the shelves for the coinciding sides that match with the cribs. Heston has his ranch/cowboy side, and little bean has her girly floral side, I think this is gonna work!

I have yet to find the curtains that work in the room, so I think I'm going to have to do some sewing. And I have canvas wall art that I made for Heston so I'm not quite done decorating, but it's a work in progress.

While I adorned the shelves this morning, Heston made himself comfortable in the cardboard box that the crib sheets came in. He was pretty entertained! I gave him a crayon and he drew all over the box. So when I told him to smile for the camera, he didn't really have much time to pose.

A Trip Up to Winnie's

With me already feeling like a cow and about 9 months preggo, taking Heston on adventures is a lifesaver!
I can get out of the house, and if Tom's close (or up to it) he'll meet me and help with Heston.

I had heard through the Creighton grapevine that one of the Holstein mama cows up at Winnie's barn had calved. She was bred by a Brown Swiss and had a beautiful little brown heifer calf. I decided that it was the perfect time to call Tom up and see if he was ready for a field trip!

I bundled Heston up and we met Tom at the barn. Tom was the best tour guide a mom could ask for. If you've noticed the bandit mask, our house has been sick for awhile and with the wind out here, Tom wears that mask to protect his face from any further drafts. He looks pretty scary though if I do say so myself.

I made Tom pose with Heston in front of the cows, I think he's smiling....

We then ventured onto the sheep pen and Heston was pretty entertained.

His favorite animal right now is a cow and if you ask him what sound it makes, he'll tell you, and it's pretty cute.

 Until next time!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Valentine's Day has always been my favorite holiday, and as I look back at last year, I remembered taking these photos of my chubby baby! Was that only last year? Where did the time go?

Now, he eats breakfast at his high chair like a big boy and watches cartoons while he sneaks oreos.

I'm trying to be on top of writing more blogs, so I'll do my best. I just realized that only a year ago I kissed this chunker all over for a photo shoot! Now he gives me "moochies" all on his own!
