Garden Time

It has finally happened-the season of gardening. One I dread, and one my husband loves!

Tom got the rows, water, and seeds ready while I watched and took pictures. I did of course help him plant, but with a big belly it's harder than it looks.

We have 8 rows with all types of different plants: strawberries, watermelon, eggplants, peppers, tomatoes, you name it!

So now we watch them grow, and I start the weeding process (yuck!). Tom says it will keep me busy, bless his heart.

New Trees in the Yard

Tom had the chance to pull out the Bobcat again and get some trees planted. My father-in-law found a great deal on trees at Costco and purchased a ton! Some went to Grandma Winnie's house, some to my in-laws, some to my brother-in-law's house, and 10 to ours.

The guys came over with augers, tractors, water trucks and trees, it was a big ordeal! So now there are 10 trees in the front of our driveway, it's a nice block from the neighbors-we love them, but we also want some privacy as well.

And now with the newly installed drip system, watering them is so much easier-I was going out there watering each tree with a hose and a huge belly, thank heavens for those drip lines.

The Parents Come for a Visit

My mom and dad came down to visit last week and boy do I love when they show up here. My dad always helps me around the house and beyond and my mom teaches me to sew and helps me cook, it couldn't be better!

My dad volunteered to help clean the chicken coop (bless his heart) and here he is with dust mask at all, the coop is as clean as it's ever been! Thanks mom and dad!

Garden Time

The time has come to bust out the seeds and planting trays and get some veggies planted.

So far we just have 2 trays and we've planted everything from squash to okra. Granted we planted them inside about a week ago, and with the weather the way it's been they might not make it outside until May, it's cold out there!

But here is my husband hard at work with the seeds, planting diligently. I'll post some pictures with the results of a week's worth of growing soon!

A Lovely Surprise!

Yesterday was our 3 year anniversary, and apart from the fact that husband has so much on his plate and can barely remember his own birthday, something showed up for me, in a box none the less!

Tom ordered me a beautiful bouquet of daisies and I love them! They even came with a card that was extra mushy (bless his heart). I know it's the thought that counts, and I'm so blessed to have such a husband as Tom.

Did I mention that I love daises? Fresh flowers are always something that I love to have in the house, it feels so much homier with them gracing the table.
