Pregnancy Pictures and My Two Kiddos

My good friend Jocelyn took my maternity pictures at 7 months preggo with Sadie. She has such an eye for things, these old trucks are right here in my front yard, but I never thought they'd look this good in a picture! Anyways, here I am decked out like a Holstein cow (which is what I felt like at the time).

I'm glad I have pictures as proof and also a comparison to Heston. I kept pulling out the maternity book I made when I was preggie with Hes to see if I'd still have a big baby, ugh!

This picture is the one I made Tom take as we were heading out to the hospital. Look how puffy I was, yucky! Granted, this was taken at 2 am, and I did my best to try and do my hair and makeup in between contractions.
Then here's my precious little Sadie. Born in at 9 pounds 12 ounces. And she resembles her brother sooooo much!

 Look at those Creighton ears!
This is me the day before giving birth to Heston. Just looking back at these pictures I hurt!
Sadie is almost a month old and here's Heston at a month, boy how similar they are!

Heston's Adventures

With the new baby here, Heston has been into everything! I think he's testing me, and winning!

Heston loves to play in the fireplace (when there's no fire of course) and so the end result is tons of ashes and soot everywhere. He was awfully quiet the other day, and this is how I found him. He had painted himself with ashes while playing cards and then tried to put the cards into the diaper genie. Oh boy! He did such a good job painting his face, I told him he'd be an excellent makeup artist.

Heston also likes to dress himself. So here is one of his outfits, and it matches pretty well if I do say so myself. Go Heston!
Heston always steals shoes now. So when Tom comes home he makes it a point to at least walk around the kitchen in his daddy's boots.
While I'm feeding little Sadie, it's much easier to have Heston play outside with the dogs and his new bubble blaster! The other day he came into the house looking like a little dirt devil and had a scrape on his forehead. I asked him what happened and he said: "Uh Oh".  Yea, that's what I thought too. He smelled of dogfood and was drenched in water, so maybe he tripped coming in. Needless to say, it was time to brush his dogfood smelling teeth and give him a bath. He wasn't too excited to wash off his battle wounds.

Then here he is out of the bath. I told you he loves shoes! Don't ever tell him there a picture of his nakey buns on the internet!

My Kid, Kids, and the Kid to Come!

Last night Tom made a fire and Heston loves to help carry the smaller pieces of firewood in for daddy. He's pretty helpful. As Tom was starting the fire, Heston was right there next to him passing him wood. As I sat in the recliner (the only chair I'm comfortable in these days) I was laughing to myself at the sight of my two favorite boys working side by side and how much they resemble each other. I mean, look at those ears! The ears have to be a dead giveaway.

Did I mention that it rained? It rained and we're oh so excited here on the farm. I don't think Heston even knew what rain was! On two separate occasions I bundled Heston up and put on his cute little rubber boots and just let him have at the rain puddles- he was in heaven! Sampson, our dog, had to be in on the action too, and Heston loved the company.

Here at the Tom and Kristi house we had a batch of little goat kids and they're such a different color than we're used to. We got black! We let them out to run around today and stretch their little kid legs, and I love how they romp and jump, it's so cute. I told Heston to come and look at the babies and before I could turn my head, he had run over to the rock pile and starting climbing it. Clearly the rocks were way more interesting than the babies. Oh well, I enjoyed watching the kids at least.

Also, did I mention that I'm preggo? I'm currently 37 1/2 weeks and figured it was time for proof with some pictures. I asked Tom if he would take some pictures of me, and when I tried to pose by putting Heston on the ground he was not too happy. So Tom and I were laughing at the most pitiful crying face that Heston would do. So I picked him up and the sad face turned happy, and I love his smile. It melts my heart.

Since I'm so much slower these days Heston pretty much can entertain himself, and I'm amazed at what he does to keep himself busy. Yesterday, he found my stash of bags and wore one of them on his head while he walked around. He then proceeded to run into things which made me laugh, and so he laughed, hey-whatever makes him happy!

My Little Helper

As I've been organizing the nursery in preparation for this little girl, Heston has been on my heels, wanting to see everything I'm doing and wanting to help with everything in the process.

First he found her piggy bank encased in styrofoam that he needed to investigate and disassemble. I came around the corner to find pieces everywhere, he was pretty proud of himself.

Then, in my hair drawer I have black and white stretchy headbands for my bad hair/bang days, and when Heston sees me wear them he wants to try them out for himself, so this is what he ends up with and it makes me giggle each time. So stylish!

I got a pink and grey car seat cover for Heston's infant car seat, because of course this little one needs girly touches (Tom's not impressed) and Heston was definitely right there in the action to help his mom cover and re-style his little sister's seat. Oh Heston, how you keep me on my toes!

Re-Vamping the Nursery

With less than a month left before this little farmerette comes into the world, it was time to get the nursery ready for two!

Kandiss, Tom's sister, gave us a white crib for the girl, so Tom and I had a hot date putting together the crib, and as you can see, he's very excited!

Last night, Tom put up the shelves for the coinciding sides that match with the cribs. Heston has his ranch/cowboy side, and little bean has her girly floral side, I think this is gonna work!

I have yet to find the curtains that work in the room, so I think I'm going to have to do some sewing. And I have canvas wall art that I made for Heston so I'm not quite done decorating, but it's a work in progress.

While I adorned the shelves this morning, Heston made himself comfortable in the cardboard box that the crib sheets came in. He was pretty entertained! I gave him a crayon and he drew all over the box. So when I told him to smile for the camera, he didn't really have much time to pose.

A Trip Up to Winnie's

With me already feeling like a cow and about 9 months preggo, taking Heston on adventures is a lifesaver!
I can get out of the house, and if Tom's close (or up to it) he'll meet me and help with Heston.

I had heard through the Creighton grapevine that one of the Holstein mama cows up at Winnie's barn had calved. She was bred by a Brown Swiss and had a beautiful little brown heifer calf. I decided that it was the perfect time to call Tom up and see if he was ready for a field trip!

I bundled Heston up and we met Tom at the barn. Tom was the best tour guide a mom could ask for. If you've noticed the bandit mask, our house has been sick for awhile and with the wind out here, Tom wears that mask to protect his face from any further drafts. He looks pretty scary though if I do say so myself.

I made Tom pose with Heston in front of the cows, I think he's smiling....

We then ventured onto the sheep pen and Heston was pretty entertained.

His favorite animal right now is a cow and if you ask him what sound it makes, he'll tell you, and it's pretty cute.

 Until next time!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Valentine's Day has always been my favorite holiday, and as I look back at last year, I remembered taking these photos of my chubby baby! Was that only last year? Where did the time go?

Now, he eats breakfast at his high chair like a big boy and watches cartoons while he sneaks oreos.

I'm trying to be on top of writing more blogs, so I'll do my best. I just realized that only a year ago I kissed this chunker all over for a photo shoot! Now he gives me "moochies" all on his own!
