2010 Christmas

My husband drove with me to my home town and then about an hour more to cut down this tree from our beloved tree farm in West Point.

We put it up last night and decorated it-garland, lights, candy canes, the works! There's even an angel on top.

All I have to say is that I'm now in the Christmas spirit, I highly recommend getting your tree put up, and while you're doing it, put on some good Christmas music.

Here's the happy holidays!

Beginnings of a Homemaker

I stumbled across this picture the other day, and boy did it bring back some memories.

This picture was taken that day of my college graduation. My parents were there to help me pack up, and my boyfriend (yes the same one I ended up marrying) graced me with this present I am holding.

I had no cooking skills, seriously, diddly squat. So he decided that to get me prepped for real life, he would gift me an apron and cookbook. Little did I know it was his plan all along to have me start cooking for him!

I still have this cookbook and it brings back such great memories, and oh does my husband have a sense of humor.

Here's to years of cooking away!

My Favorite Sister

I know I haven't written in forever, and I apologize for that!

Today I realized that I really really miss my sister, Mandi. Yes, I do have a sister and we're about as opposite as can be, but then very similar in some respects. We finish each others sentences and have that twin complex where we think of the same things at the same time, weird actually.

She's serving in the Air Force and stationed in Hawaii, and so, with Veterans Day close, I just wanted to let her know I appreciate her (if she evens reads my blog). Thank you for serving us Mandi, love and miss you!

Your sister,

Heart of Gold

At my bridal shower, there was a game in which the ladies would answer questions about Tom and I.The questions were stated and then followed by four answers- each answer was the title of a song. When one of the question stated "what is one of Kristi's favorite's personality traits of Tom", my answer was "Heart of Gold". Great song by the way.

The reason I said all of this is because last night, after a long long weekend, Tom came home tired and beat around 8pm. And much to my surprise, hanging from his man hands was this gorgeous bouquet that he thoughtfully cut with his pocket knife. This is why I still fall in love with him each day.

He truly still does have a heart of gold. Mushy, I know.....

My Favorite Baby Pic of Tom

We still have a couple more weeks until his birthday, but I decided that I must post a baby pic of my husband. I understand that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but this baby is pretty darn cute! I'm hoping that ours will look just like this.

This picture sums Tom up very well: Always smiling, and takes whatever life gives him/weathering the elements. That's my husband!

Did I mention that he's always happy go lucky?

Hunting Trip

The terrible two-Tom and Jack, are driving to Wyoming (as I write this) to embark on their annual hunting trip.

What is a woman to do?
A whole lot really! I'm cleaning out drawers, organizing clothes, washing clothes, mopping floors, and guess what? It might even stay clean for a week. But seriously, that's the only good thing about having the one you love go on a hunting trip, I do miss him, really!

The point is, Tom loves to hunt, but he rarely gets time to do it. So I hope he's enjoying scouting out those bucks and spending some time with his brother!

Tom's Baseball Days

I've decided that since Tom will be turning 30 in a month, that I should dedicate some of this blog to him.

I've had the opportunity to go through tons of pictures of Tom life- baseball, family trips, basketball, hunting trips, soccer, you name it. I've had a blast and am realizing how lucky and blessed I am to have him as my husband, he's been through so much!

This is Tom playing baseball for the Oregon Beavers. If you all saw pictures of Dale, his dad, at this age, they'd be carbon copies!

Until next time,
